Charisa credits her father for pulling her into triathlon after she spent years competing in gymnastics. Father and daughter raced their hometown Chicago triathlon together when she was in college and in 2001 pops raced Ironman Lake Placid while Charisa spectated. She did not sleep a wink the night before his big race, as she was certain he might die and had no clue what he was doing. He in fact did know what he was doing and did not die.
Multiple years racing as an amateur led to Kona and on to earning her pro card. Charisa is now in her 6th year racing professional and is enjoying racing around the world.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about those who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.
